Crytek has announced that CryENGINE 3 is now available, free of charge, to all educational institutions.CryENGINE 3, one of the most visually impressive engines on the market, is now available to universities via the CryENGINE Eductional SDK.It’s there for educators who want their students to get some hands-on experience with “the state-of-the-art in game development and real-time 3D technology,” with Crytek recommending it “for courses and research projects in game development, 3D graphics, simulation, architecture, animation, film and design.””Here at Crytek, we work hard to enable all our licensees to achieve their vision with CryENGINE 3, so we aren’t considering this Educational SDK as a product we ‘fire and forget’ – we will be looking for strong educational partners to work together with Crytek in the future – and we will soon be announcing exciting programmes for students working with CryENGINE 3,” said Carl Jones, the CryENGINE director of global business development.
